On September 13th, Ambassador Hou Yue paid a visit to Minister of  Local Government and Districts Mr. Sigbjørn Gjelsvik.

Ambassador Hou expressed that, through the joint efforts of both countries, China-Norway relations have maintained a healthy and stable development and cooperation at the local level has yielded fruitful results. Norway is a highly developed economy, while China holds unique advantages in fields such as telecommunications and infrastructure. Chinese economy has strong resilience, ample potential and strong vitality, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation is in the best interests of both people. Next year will mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Norway, and we look forward to seeing new developments in bilateral relations.

Minister Gjelsvik welcomed Ambassador Hou to her new post and expressed that China is an important economic and trade partner for Norway. The two shared good momentum in pragmatic cooperation, with significant potential for collaboration in renewable energy, the maritime economy, etc. Norway remains committed to an open market and welcomes businesses from all countries, including China, to invest and engage in business activities in Norway. He expressed his willingness to work together with Ambassador Hou, taking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to further enhance exchanges and promote cooperation.
