Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu Meets with Diplomatic Envoys of Pacific Island Countries to China

On February 7, 2024, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu held a group meeting with diplomatic envoys of Pacific Island countries to China, including Tonga, Kiribati, Samoa, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, and Papua New Guinea as well as Trade Commissioner of Pacific Trade Invest China of the Pacific Islands Forum.

Ma Zhaoxu extended New Year greetings to the diplomatic envoys and pointed out that the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Pacific Island countries has achieved fruitful results in the past year. As a developing country, China has always been a good friend, good brother and good partner of Pacific Island countries. China will continue to promote traditional friendship, exchange experience on governance, strengthen mutually beneficial practical cooperation and achieve common development in the spirit of mutual respect and equal treatment.

Diplomatic envoys of Pacific Island countries to China said that the island countries cherish friendly and cooperative relations with China, highly appreciate China's contribution to helping them promote economic and social development, and will continue to adhere to the one-China policy and work more closely with China for the benefit of the two peoples.
