On August 15, 2023, Director-General of the Department of Arms Control of the Foreign Ministry Sun Xiaobo held consultations with UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu in Beijing. The two sides had an exchange of views on the New Agenda for Peace proposed by the UN Secretary-General, the review process of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, outer space security, cybersecurity, AI and other issues.
