On February 23, 2023, Director-General Shen Bo of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the Foreign Ministry met with visiting Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Jagan Chapagain. Shen Bo briefed on the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He said that the CPC always applies a people-centered development philosophy, remains committed to practicing true multilateralism, and actively participates in international humanitarian cooperation, so as to contribute China's strength to promoting world peace and common development. The two sides exchanged views on the current international humanitarian situation and regional hotspot issues of mutual interest and concern. Shen Bo briefed China's positions on the Ukraine crisis, Syria and other issues.
