President Xi Jinping Appoints New Ambassadors

On March 12, 2017, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping announced the appointment of the following new Ambassadors in line with decisions adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress:

I. Qin Jian was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Federal Republic of Somalia, replacing Wei Hongtian.

II. Hu Zhaoming was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Croatia, replacing Deng Ying (female).

III. Zhang Jianguo was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, replacing Wu Dong.

IV. Lu Shaye was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Canada, replacing Luo Zhaohui.
