On the afternoon of May 15, 2017, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with Special Representative of German Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Brigitte Zypries of Germany, who was in China for the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Li Keqiang expressed that Germany is China's important cooperation partner in Europe, and China-Germany relations enjoy a comprehensive and in-depth development, which conforms to the fundamental interests of the two countries and the two peoples. China is willing to take the 45th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations as an opportunity to enhance high-level exchanges, conduct in-depth communication on extensive topics of common concern, and deepen mutually beneficial and mutually complementary cooperation with Germany, so as to elevate bilateral relations and cooperation to new highs. It is hoped that the German side could continuously play a constructive role in promoting China-EU relations and cooperation toward a healthy and stable development. China supports Germany in well hosting the G20 Hamburg Summit this year.

Brigitte Zypries conveyed Chancellor Angela Merkel's sincere greetings to Premier Li Keqiang, and expressed that Germany-China relations are stable and solid. The German side stands ready to, together with China, further enhance communication, and deepen practical cooperation in various fields, in a bid to push forward the development of bilateral relations.
