On February 16, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong met with Cambodian Ambassador to China Khek Cai Mealy Sysoda.

Nong Rong said that China welcomes Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk to China for a convalescent tour and will do its best to provide all the support and facilitation needed. President Xi Jinping recently reached important common understandings with visiting Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen on building a high-quality, high-level and high-standard China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era, drawing a grand blueprint for the development of China-Cambodia relations. The two sides need to work closely to accelerate the building of the "Diamond Hexagon" cooperation framework, ensure the success of the series of activities to celebrate the "Year of China-Cambodia Friendship", and consolidate the "ironclad friendship" between China and Cambodia.

Sysoda thanked the Chinese side for the thoughtful arrangements made for King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk's convalescent tour to China, and expressed readiness to work with the Chinese side to fully implement the important outcomes of Prime Minister Hun Sen's visit to China to promote new progress in the building of a Cambodia-China community with a shared future.
