On April 12, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong met with Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun.

Nong Rong said that China is advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through a Chinese path to modernization, holding high the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Upholding the founding ideology of Pancasila, Indonesia has blazed an independent path of development. China will always act on the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness and the policy of forging friendships and partnerships with its neighbors, and work with Indonesia to support each other in the process of modernization and set a good example of sincere cooperation and mutual benefit between developing countries. China is ready to follow the guidance of the strategic common understanding reached between President Xi Jinping and President Joko Widodo last year on jointly building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future, continue to strengthen exchanges at all levels, expand bilateral economic and trade investment, deepen high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and ensure the implementation of key projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Corridor and the "Two Countries, Twin Parks", so as to create more highlights in bilateral cooperation. China will give its full support to Indonesia's work as ASEAN rotating chair and work together to build an even closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.

Djauhari Oratmangun said that in the reception room of the Embassy of Indonesia in China, there is a precious photo of President Sukarno, the founding father of Indonesia, and Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai, with smiles on their faces. This is a vivid portrayal, and a reflection of the solid foundation, of the traditional close friendship between Indonesia and China. Today, under the personal guidance of President Joko Widodo and President Xi Jinping, China-Indonesia relations have maintained strong momentum of growth despite the difficult times of the pandemic. There have been increasingly frequent high-level exchanges, growing bilateral trade volume, and fruitful cooperation in various fields, bringing tangible benefits to the two countries and two peoples. Indonesia is ready to work with China to implement the various common understandings reached during recent high-level exchanges between the two sides, so as to accumulate more deliverables for the next meeting between the two heads of state, and write a new and splendid chapter in China-Indonesia relations through enhanced mutual trust and cooperation.
