On July 22, 2023, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong held a new round of work consultation with Director-General of Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Takehiro Funakoshi in Tokyo. The two sides had a candid and in-depth exchange of views on China-Japan relations and international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern, and agreed to continue carrying out the institutionalized consultation.
