On August 17, 2023, Special Representative for Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Yang Xiaokun and Deputy Secretary General for Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia YBhg. Dato' Cheong Loon Lai co-chaired a consultation on human rights in Putrajaya, Malaysia. They had an exchange of views on respective human rights concepts, the progress of the human rights cause, and multilateral human rights work, among others. Yang Xiaokun also visited the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia.
