Han Zheng Meets with Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim

On November 9, 2023, Vice President Han Zheng met with Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya.

Han Zheng said that China and Malaysia enjoy everlasting friendship, and the friendship between the two countries has grown with new vitality as time goes by. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Malaysia. President Xi Jinping and Mr. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim have reached important common understandings on building a China-Malaysia community with a shared future, drawing a blueprint for the development of bilateral relations in the new era, which is of great milestone significance. China and Malaysia are exemplary in friendly exchanges between countries. China regards Malaysia as a trustworthy friend and important strategic partner, has always supported Malaysia in choosing a development path suitable to its own national conditions, and is willing to work with Malaysia to firmly support each other on issues concerning respective core interests. China is ready to work with Malaysia to jointly advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, encourage closer communication and exchanges at all levels and in all regions between the two countries, expand cooperation in such fields as economy and trade, culture, tourism, education, and science and technology, and continuously enhance the friendship between the two peoples, so as to add new dimensions and inject new impetus into the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Anwar said that Malaysia-China relations bear special and strategic significance. Malaysia firmly supports the important visions and initiatives proposed by China, such as building a community with a shared future for mankind and the Belt and Road Initiative. Malaysia is full of expectations for the future of bilateral relations, and is ready to deepen cooperation with China in various fields. Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest and do business in Malaysia, so as to achieve common prosperity and development.
