On November 9, 2023, Vice President Han Zheng met with Supreme Head of Malaysia Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah in Kuala Lumpur.

Han Zheng first conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to Supreme Head Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, and said that China and Malaysia, as friendly neighbors across the sea, enjoy a time-honored friendship. Noting that next year, the two countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, he said China is ready to work with Malaysia to promote the further development of bilateral relations, take the joint building of a China-Malaysia community with a shared future as a guide to advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, jointly push forward the implementation of their respective national development plans, and constantly substantiate and enrich the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. China has always upheld the principle of "planning together, building together, and benefiting together" and deepened cooperation with neighboring countries. China is ready to strengthen practical cooperation in various fields with ASEAN countries, including Malaysia, to promote sustained prosperity, stability and development in the region.

Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah asked Han Zheng to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, and congratulated China on the great achievements of the Belt and Road Initiative. He thanked China for its robust economic growth driving the development of ASEAN countries, and expressed willingness to further upgrade bilateral cooperation to better benefit the people of both countries.
