Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong Meets with Malaysian Ambassador to China Norman Bin Muhamad

On February 6, 2024, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong met with Malaysian Ambassador to China Norman Bin Muhamad.

Liu said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia and the Year of China- Malaysia Friendship. The Malay proverb says, "Without plowing, there can be no harvest." China is willing to work with Malaysia to deepen practical cooperation, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, advance the China-Malaysia community with a shared future to a new level, stay committed to an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, and jointly safeguard regional peace, development and prosperity.

Norman Bin Muhamad said, Malaysia-China relations have maintained steady and in-depth development and bilateral cooperation has achieved fruitful results. Malaysia attaches great importance to developing relations with China and is ready to take the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries to push for greater development of bilateral relations.
