Wang Yi Meets with Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan

On October 5, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met with Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan on the sidelines of the 3rd China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation.

Wang Yi said that China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers and sharing weal and woe, and the two countries have maintained close interaction like visiting relatives. Wang Yi welcomed President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in China upon the invitation of President Xi Jinping. Next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mongolia, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of friendly cooperative relations between the two countries, and also the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping's visit to Mongolia. China is ready to work with Mongolia to jointly plan well high-level exchanges and priority fields for cooperation, push for greater development of bilateral relations, and further set a good example of relations between neighboring countries. The two sides should follow the guidance of the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, adhere to respecting each other's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, respect respective core interests and major concerns, strengthen mutual trust, enhance communication, resolutely push the steady and sustained development of China-Mongolia relations in the new era, and promote the building of a community with a shared future between the two countries in an in-depth and substantive manner.

Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan extended congratulations to China on its successful hosting of the 3rd China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation and on the important achievements made in Xizang, and expressed his willingness to strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges and communication in the field of ecological conservation with Xizang. Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan said that Mongolia-China relations have maintained close development momentum, cooperation in various fields has been constantly deepened, and in particular economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has played an important role in Mongolia's economic development. Mongolia feels deeply satisfied with the development of Mongolia-China relations, has full confidence in the future of the bilateral relations, and will remain committed to the friendly policy towards China, respect each other's core interests, and push the bilateral relations constantly to new heights. Mongolia attaches great importance to President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh's attendance at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in China and believes that this will greatly boost Belt and Road cooperation between the two countries.
