On December 22, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong met with a visiting Mongolian delegation of senior diplomats headed by President of Former Diplomat Committee of Mongolia Ambassador L.Galbadrakh.

Sun Weidong welcomed L.Galbadrakh and his delegation to visit China for exchanges and said that China and Mongolia are good neighbors, good brothers, and good partners. In recent years, the development of China-Mongolia relations has entered the fast lane, with frequent high-level exchanges between the two countries and exchanges and cooperation in various fields reaching new heights. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, the Belt and Road Initiative, and the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness in neighborhood diplomacy put forth by President Xi Jinping, and the next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mongolia. China is willing to work with Mongolia to take important common understandings reached by leaders of the two countries as guidance, actively advance the building of a community with a shared future between the two countries, further deepen the China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership, and join hands to achieve development and prosperity.

L.Galbadrakh thanked the warm and friendly reception of the Chinese side, and said that during this visit, he witnessed the great achievements from China's reform and opening up as well as the modernization drive and fully felt the strong pulse of China's high-quality development. Mongolia-China relations have a profound foundation and broad development prospects. Mongolia hopes to get on board the express train of China's development and is willing to further strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries to continuously achieve new development in Mongolia-China relations.
