On October 5, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi met with Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani on the sidelines of the 3rd China Xizang Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation.

Wang Yi said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic cooperative partners and the two countries have established an iron-clad friendship. The China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership has withstood the test of history, staying unbreakable and indestructible and maintaining a strong development momentum. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping and the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The building of the CPEC has brought tangible benefits to Pakistan's economic development and people's well-being. Standing at a new starting point, it is expected that the two sides make new progress in the building of a growth corridor, a livelihood-enhancing corridor, an innovation corridor, a green corridor and an open corridor, so as to achieve the high-quality development of the CPEC.

Wang Yi said that China welcomes Pakistani Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar to lead a delegation to attend the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in China. He believes that this will inject new momentum into the development of the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. China is willing to share the opportunity of modernization with Pakistan and help Pakistan overcome temporary difficulties and concentrate on national development.

Jalil Abbas Jilani congratulated China on the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and spoke highly of Pakistan-China relations and the fruitful results of the CPEC. Jalil Abbas Jilani said that developing relations with China is and will always be the cornerstone of Pakistan's diplomatic policy. He also said that the CPEC has helped Pakistan achieve economic transformation and has brought great benefits to Pakistan. Pakistan thanks China for providing valuable support in the economy, finance, and other areas. Pakistan will take forceful measures to ensure the security and safety of Chinese nationals, projects, and institutions in Pakistan. Pakistan fully appreciates President Xi Jinping and China's essential role in safeguarding regional peace and stability. China helped Saudi Arabia and Iran realize the reconciliation, which is not only beneficial to the peace of the Middle East but also significant to regional stability.
