Li Xi Meets with Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar

On October 18, 2023, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Li Xi met in Beijing with Prime Minister of Pakistan Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar who is in China to attend the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF).

Li Xi said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping, and the 10th anniversary of the launch of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The keynote speech delivered by President Xi at the opening ceremony of the BRF has charted the course for the building of the Belt and Road. China is ready to work with Pakistan to further implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen the alignment of development strategies, advance the development of the CPEC, and speed up the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era. China is also ready to continue to deepen practical cooperation with Pakistan in anti-corruption fields, jointly advance the building of a clean road, and enrich the connotation of the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said that President Xi's speech links the building of the Belt and Road with global economic growth, which is inspiring. The Pakistani side looks forward to seizing this rare opportunity to promote the upgrade of Pakistan-China cooperation.
