The Fourth Meeting of CPEC Joint Working Group on International Cooperation and Coordination is Held in Islamabad

On January 21, 2024, the Fourth Meeting of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Joint Working Group on International Cooperation and Coordination was held in Islamabad, which was co-chaired by Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong and Pakistani Foreign Secretary Mohammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi.

The two sides spoke highly of the fruitful results of the CPEC since its launch more than 10 years ago, and agreed on the need to implement the important common understandings between the leaders of the two countries, jointly develop the CPEC for growth, better life, innovation, green development, and openness, upgrade it, and strive to build the CPEC into a demonstration program of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

The two sides had in-depth discussions on the mode of third-party participation in the development of the CPEC. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to ensure the safe and smooth progress of the CPEC projects, and agreed to strengthen media cooperation, enhance think tank exchanges, and continuously enrich the cooperation in the CPEC development.

The two sides signed the minutes of the meeting to reflect the consensus reached at the meeting.
