On the evening of April 27, 2023, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Liu Jinsong summoned Minister of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea (ROK) in China Kang Sang-wook, made serious démarches on wrong words related to China in the joint statement between the United States and the ROK, expressed strong dissatisfaction, emphasized China’s strong position on the Taiwan question and other issues, and urged the ROK to earnestly abide by the one-China principle.
