On July 4, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong met with visiting Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Choi Youngsam. The two sides had an exchange of views on China-Japan-ROK cooperation. Nong Rong emphasized that tripartite cooperation should uphold the greater good and the principles of mutual respect; pursue mutual benefit and promote win-win cooperation; uphold openness and inclusiveness and advance regional economic integration; stick to exchanges and mutual learning to consolidate the foundation of public support. The two sides agreed to strengthen communication and coordination in promoting the development of tripartite cooperation.
