On March 1, 2023, Assistant Foreign Minister Nong Rong met with Singaporean Ambassador to China Lui Tuck Yew.

Nong Rong said that China and Singapore are important cooperative partners to each other, and have always kept close communication and exchanges. Not long ago, Foreign Minister Qin Gang held talks in Beijing with Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Singapore relations and international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern, and reached extensive common understandings. China is ready to work with Singapore to constantly deepen strategic communication and practical cooperation, and, in particular, to learn from each other and seek win-win cooperation in the process of modernization, so as to contribute to the common development of the two countries and regional prosperity and stability.

Lui Tuck Yew thanked China for the warm reception accorded to Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan during his visit to China, and noted that Singapore attaches great importance to its relations with China, and looks forward to expanding high-level practical cooperation with China, to constantly strive for the new development of the China-Singapore all-round cooperative partnership progressing with the times.
