On April 18, 2019, President Xi Jinping and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain exchanged congratulatory messages, warmly celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China-Bahrain diplomatic relations.

In his congratulatory message, Xi Jinping pointed out that since the establishment of China-Bahrain diplomatic relations 30 years ago, the two countries have rendered each other respect and support and forged a profound friendship, with bilateral relations steadily moving forward and bilateral cooperation bearing rich fruits in various fields. I attach great importance to the development of China-Bahrain relations and I am willing to join efforts with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to seize the opportunities presented by the 30th anniversary of the establishment of China-Bahrain diplomatic relations and the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative by the two countries, and lift China-Bahrain cooperation in various fields to a new level, so as to bring benefits to both countries and the two peoples.

In his congratulatory message, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa said that the Bahraini side cherishes its strong friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields with China, and will continue to commit to deepening and developing Bahrain-China relations. Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa wishes the Chinese people greater progress.

On the same day, Premier Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa of Bahrain also exchanged congratulatory messages. Premier Li Keqiang stated in the congratulatory message that the Chinese side is willing to enhance practical cooperation with the Bahraini side within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and push bilateral relations for greater development. Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, in his congratulatory message, said that the Bahraini side is looking forward to making joint efforts with the Chinese side to continuously deepen Bahrain-China relations.
