Exchange of Legislation and Information
1. The Parties shall exchange legislation and other information related to the aspects of public health and medical sciences according to their respective jurisdiction and possibilities according to the other's requirement.
2. The Parties shall exchange materials of the international medical conferences and symposiums held in their countries.
Exchange of Specialists and Study Tours
1. The Parties shall exchange specialists and study tours for the purpose of learning and exchanging experiences in the following areas:
-Traditional medicine
-Medical plants
-Burns and Plastic Surgery
-Nursing
2. Exchange visits of specialists and study tours shall be made upon mutual agreement of the Parties and according to specific, organised schedules which shall include names of members of the delegation, their positions and the purpose of their visit. These visits should be arranged at least two months prior to the proposed date.
Cooperation Between Health Institutions
The Parties shall encourage the cooperation between health institutions in their two countries. The forms of cooperation are as follows:
-Establishment of sister hospitals
-Establishment of direct exchange and cooperation between Health Institutes.
Training And Research
The Parties shall encourage research and training through fellowships according to the resources and the needs of each party. Research and training shall be in the following fields:
-Medicinal herbs
-Traditional medicine (including acupuncture)
-Plastic surgery
Recruitment of Medical And Paramedical Personnel
"The Parties" shall in accordance with Article 5 of the Protocol, recruit medical and paramedical personnel to work in the other country for periods and on conditions as determined and agreed by both sides. Such recruitment shall be in the following fields:
-Traditional Medicine
-Nursing
-Plastic Surgery
-Burns
Financing
1. Within the framework of this Plan, the host country shall be responsible for providing free medical treatment in the event that any of the visitors fall ill or meet with an accident during their stay in that country.
2. Financial expenditure arising from visits of specialists, study tours and fellowships referred to in Articles Two and Four of this plan shall be discussed and mutually agreed upon.
The Parties may suggest additions or amendments to this Plan. These additions or amendments shall only come into effect upon agreement of both parties thereon.
Made in Muscat on 18th October, 1997 in two originals, each in Arabic, Chinese and English. Each Party shall maintain an original of each version which shall have legal status.
In case of discrepancy of interpretation of either the Arabic or Chinese version the English text shall prevail.
