Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with Diplomats Delegation from Oman

On June 17, 2013, Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met with diplomats delegation from Oman, headed by Mohamed Al Busaidi, Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Institute of Oman. Zhai Jun spoke positively of the development of China-Oman relationship. He expressed that China views Oman as an important cooperative partner in the Middle East and Gulf region. China is willing to work with Oman to uplift the bilateral relationship to a new level. The exchange mechanism between diplomats of the two countries provides a new channel for enhancing communication between the two Foreign Ministries and is conducive to promoting understanding and deepening friendship between both sides.

Mohamed Al Busaidi thanked the Chinese side for their warm hospitality and considerate arrangement. He said that the Oman-China friendship is deeply rooted in the hearts of both peoples. This is the first visit to China by an Omani diplomats delegation. Hope the visit will further deepen the understanding of China as well as the friendship, to make greater contributions to pushing forward bilateral relations.

On the same day, Chen Xiaodong, Director-General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs, and Du Wei, Deputy Director-General of the Policy Planning Department of Chinese Foreign Ministry, exchanged views respectively with the delegation on bilateral relations as well as international and regional issues of mutual interest.
