Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming Visits Oman

From September 11 to 12, 2015, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming visited Oman and met respectively with Deputy Prime Minister Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al-Said, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah and Chairman of the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (PAIPED) Salem Moosa Hassan of Oman. He also held the 9th round of strategic consultation between the two Foreign Ministries with Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi of Oman, exchanging in-depth views on the bilateral relations and international and regional topics of common interest.

Zhang Ming noted that China sees Oman as an important cooperative partner in the Middle East and Gulf region. China is willing to take the co-construction of the "Belt and Road" by the two countries as an opportunity to continuously deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and strengthen communication and coordination in international and regional affairs so as to push the China-Oman friendly cooperative relations for new heights and bring benefits to the two countries and peoples.

The Omani side stated that China is Oman's sincere cooperative partner and that Oman and China enjoy traditional friendship. Oman is willing to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors including production capacity, infrastructure construction, energy, technology transfer and human resource development, constantly enhance the level of trilateral cooperation between the two countries with a third party and promote the Oman-China relations for greater development.

During the visit, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Ming also inspected the power station project built by Chinese enterprises.
