Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong and Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi of Oman Hold the 12th Round of Strategic Consultation Between the Two Foreign Ministries

On December 14, 2018, Assistant Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong and Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi of Oman held the strategic consultation between the two Foreign Ministries.

Chen Xiaodong expressed that this year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Oman. The Chinese side is willing to take the establishment of China-Oman strategic partnership as an opportunity to enhance the alignment of development strategies, deepen cooperation between the two countries in the areas of energy, infrastructure, finance, science and technology and connectivity, and expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, in a bid to continuously inject new connotation into the development of bilateral relations.

Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi noted that the Omani side attaches great importance to developing relations with China, and sincerely admires and appreciates the development achievements made by China in its reform and opening up, and is ready to make concerted efforts with the Chinese side to promote the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative between the two countries for more results.

Both sides also exchanged in-depth views on international and regional issues of common concern.
