On October 14, 2023, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a phone call with Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah bin Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

Faisal said that Saudi Arabia is deeply concerned about the current development of the Palestine-Israel situation, condemns all acts that attack civilians, and opposes Israel's forcible migration of people in Gaza to the outside of the region. Currently, it is imperative that humanitarian suppliers reach the people in Gaza as soon as possible. Faisal expressed the hope that the international community will work together to avoid the expansion of the conflict to other countries. Saudi Arabia believes that without the implementation of relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the founding of an independent State of Palestine, there can be no just and permanent settlement of the Palestinian question. Noting that China plays an important and fundamental role in promoting world peace and stability, Saudi Arabia stands ready to work with China to promote all parties to observe international humanitarian law, protect civilians from harm, and implement relevant resolutions of the Security Council on the Palestinian question.

Wang Yi said that China opposes and condemns all acts that harm civilians, because they are in violation of basic human conscience and the basic norms underpinning international law. Israel's actions have gone beyond the scope of self-defense, and Israel should heed the call of the international community and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and stop its group punishment to the people in Gaza. All parties should not take any action that will lead to escalation of the situation, and should get back to the negotiating table as soon as possible. China is now in intensive communication with all parties to promote a ceasefire and an end to the fighting. The pressing task is to make all-out efforts to ensure the safety of civilians, open humanitarian aid corridors as soon as possible, and protect the basic needs of the people in Gaza. China believes that the historical injustice against Palestine has lasted for more than half a century and cannot go on. All countries that love peace and uphold justice should speak up and clearly call for early implementation of the two-state solution. China is ready to work with Saudi Arabia and other Arab states to continue supporting Palestine's just cause of restoring their national rights, and bring the Palestinian question back to the right track of the two-state solution so that it can be resolved comprehensively, justly and permanently.
