External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping Meets with the UAE Ambassador to China Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri

On May 21, 2021, External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping met with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to China Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri. Both sides exchanged views on China-UAE relations and cooperation in counter-terrorism and security.

Cheng Guoping said, China-UAE friendly relations are built on a high level of mutual trust and profound friendship. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership has yielded fruitful results in the new era. The successful visit of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi to the UAE not long ago has injected fresh momentum into the development of China-UAE relations. China is willing to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the UAE on the fight against terrorism and extremism, and contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability in the two countries and the region at large.

Dhaheri said, the UAE and China enjoy traditional friendship, and are engaging in deep cooperation in various fields, bringing benefits to the two peoples. The UAE attaches great importance to its relations with China and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China on all fronts, including counter-terrorism and security, for a stream of new progress in bilateral relations.
