From December 11 to 19, 2023, Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yue Xiaoyong visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

During his visit to the UAE and Tajikistan, Special Envoy Yue met with officials in charge of the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries and they had an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest and concern. During his visit to Afghanistan, Special Envoy Yue met with Acting Foreign Minister of the Afghan interim government Amir Khan Muttaqi and other high-level officials, and they had an exchange of views on bilateral relations and practical cooperation in various fields.
