Yemen's Prime Minister Mujawar Meets with Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun

On December 12, 2007, Yemen's Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Mujawar met at his official residence with visiting Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun. Zhai conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes from Premier Wen Jiabao to Mujawar. Zhai said China and Yemen share a traditional friendship and have conducted effective cooperation on economy, trade, energy resources, infrastructure construction, culture, education and public health. He noted that China thanks for Yemen's long-standing adherence to the one-China policy and is ready to strengthen friendly cooperative relations with Yemen. Zhao expressed hope that both sides will explore new cooperation areas and ways so that their relations will achieve greater development in the new period.

Mujawar said the Yemeni people hold profound feelings towards the Chinese people. Yemen appreciates China's long-standing assistance and support to its economic and social development and hopes to continue strengthening cooperation with China in all areas, he said. The prime minister said his country welcomes Chinese businesses to actively participate in Yemen's construction and promote continuous development of the partnership between the two countries.

Mujawar also asked Zhai to convey his sincere regards to Premier Wen Jiabao.
