On 14 November 2013, Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met in Beijing with Yemeni President Abdorabuh Mansour Hadi.

Yu Zhengsheng said that China and Yemen enjoy a solid political foundation and broad fields of cooperation. The friendship is deeply rooted in the hearts of both peoples. China is satisfied with the growth momentum of bilateral relations and as well has full confidence in the future of China-Yemen relations. China is ready to work with Yemen to implement the consensus reached between the heads of state of the two countries. He asked Yemeni friends to believe that either in Yemen’s process of political transition or on its path of development and construction, China will as always provide firm support and help within the ability. The CPPCC, as a supporter and promoter of China-Yemen friendship, is ready to strengthen sharing of experience with the Yemeni side on state governance, participating in the administration and discussion of state affairs.

Abdorabuh Mansour Hadi expressed that Yemen-China friendship has a long history and Yemen-China relations have always been moving forward unceasingly. Yemen is grateful for China’s firm support for Yemen’s unification, security, stability and development. Yemen hopes to establish long-term strategic cooperative relations with China in all fields including politics, economy and trade.
