On June 4, 2014, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met respectively with the foreign ministers of Morocco, Qatar, Yemen and Somalia and the Secretary-General of the Arab League in Beijing who came China to attend the sixth ministerial meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum.

Representatives from the Arab side spoke highly of the development of bilateral relationship between Arab countries and China. They agreed that both sides should carry on the spirit of the ancient Silk Road, and forge the “One Belt One Road” proposed by China into a path of contemporary mutually beneficial cooperation and common development between Arab countries and China. Both sides should deepen the bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, counter-terrorism security, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and tourism. They believed that the ministerial meeting scheduled the next day would achieve fruitful results in this regard, sending a strong message to the world of the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Arab countries and China.

Wang Yi said that China is a trustworthy good friend of the Arab countries. However the regional and international situations change, China will never change its mind of promoting China-Arab friendship and its policies of deepening China-Arab cooperation. China will always join hands with Arab countries, bringing more benefits to Chinese and Arab peoples and making greater contributions to regional and world peace and development.
