On April 6, 2016, Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Gong Xiaosheng gave a joint interview to Chinese media, introducing relevant information on his visits to Saudi Arabia, Oman and Egypt regarding the Yemeni issue as well as communication and work with all parties in Yemen.

Special Envoy Gong Xiaosheng stressed that the Chinese side supports to resolve the Yemeni issue through political negotiation as well as the mediation efforts of Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Yemen, and welcomes the new round of peace talks that is planned to be held by all parties in Yemen recently. China is willing to make joint efforts with the global society to promote all parities in Yemen to seek a political settlement that takes all sides’ concerns into consideration through dialogues and realize peace and stability in Yemen at an early date.
