Li Keqiang Meets with Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan of Armenia

On the afternoon of September 22, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan of Armenia, who was in China for the attendance of Euro-Asia Economic Forum.

Li Keqiang spoke positively of the development of bilateral diplomatic relationship in the last 23 years since its establishment, and expressed his hope that both sides could continuously consolidate political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges thus constantly advance bilateral relations.

Li Keqiang pointed out that China will, together with Armenia, enhance integration of development strategies and policies, and actively push production capacity cooperation in such sectors as nonferrous metals and construction materials. The Chinese government supports domestic enterprises to play an active part in construction of the "North-South Road Corridor", nuclear power stations and other large infrastructure projects in Armenia, and will continue expanding bilateral cooperation in aviation and tourism thus open up new space for bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation.

Li Keqiang expressed that China will continue strengthening the basic role of people-to-people and cultural exchanges in bilateral relations. The "Armenia Culture Day" was successfully held in Beijing this year. China will take the opportunity of "China Culture Day" to be held in Armenia next year to boost mutual understanding and traditional friendship between the two peoples.

Hovik Abrahamyan said that Armenia-China relations enjoy a smooth development and bilateral cooperation in all areas is yielding positive results. The Armenian side welcomes Chinese enterprises to participate in construction of road, railway and other major infrastructure projects in Armenia, and will, together with China, actively carry out production capacity cooperation in energy, mineral resource, cement and plate glass, enhance cooperation in such sectors as light industry, agriculture, tourism and aviation, and expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges so as to push bilateral all-round cooperative relations to a new height.
