On July 21, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan held consultations between Chinese and Armenian foreign ministries in Beijing.

Ma Zhaoxu said that China-Armenia relations have maintained a healthy and sound momentum of development with steady progress in cooperation in economy and trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and localities, among other fields. China has always viewed China-Armenia relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. The two sides should advance cooperation in various fields under the guidance of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.

Mnatsakan Safaryan said that Armenia regards the development of its relations with China as a diplomatic priority, and stands ready to work with China to achieve more outcomes of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
