​Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong Meets with Diplomatic Envoys of Five Countries in Eastern Europe and Transcaucasia to China

On January 8, 2024, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong held a group meeting with diplomatic envoys of the five countries in Eastern Europe and Transcaucasia to China.

Sun Weidong said that China regards Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, and Moldova as important partners. Over the past decade, China's bilateral relations with these countries have developed steadily and stably. President Xi Jinping has maintained contact with leaders of these countries through various means, and provided strategic planning and comprehensive guidance for bilateral relations. China will uphold the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and non-interference in each other's internal affairs, firmly advance friendly cooperation in all fields, and be good friends with sincerity and mutual trust and good partners for common development with these countries.

The diplomatic envoys of the five countries to China spoke highly of the achievements in the growth of bilateral relations, reaffirmed their adherence to the one-China principle, and expressed their willingness to work with China to further deepen traditional friendship, enhance mutual support, and expand cooperation in various fields.

Sun Weidong also had an exchange of views with all parties on issues of mutual interest and concern.
