Li Keqiang Meets with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan

On the afternoon of December 10, 2015, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Great Hall of the People with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, who was in China for a state visit.

Li Keqiang expressed that since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Azerbaijan, the two countries have always adhered to mutual respect and equal treatment, and bilateral relations have obtained continuous and healthy development. Political mutual trust between the two countries is strengthening constantly, and bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation is scoring fruitful achievements. President Xi Jinping's talks with you will inject new impetus into the in-depth development of China-Azerbaijan relations.

Li Keqiang pointed out that currently both China and Azerbaijan are in a critical stage of economic and social development, facing the important tasks of stabilizing growth, adjusting structures and improving people's livelihood. The Chinese side stands ready to, together with Azerbaijan, better dovetail development strategies, deeply tap cooperation potentials in economy and trade, energy and other areas and cultivate new points of economic growth; reinforce cooperation in production capacity and infrastructure construction and propel Azerbaijan's industrialization process; draw closer people-to-people and cultural exchanges and promote cooperation in education, culture, tourism and other areas. The Chinese government supports its competent enterprises to invest and develop in Azerbaijan, and hopes that Azerbaijan provides more convenience for the Chinese personnel's entry to Azerbaijan.

Ilham Aliyev expressed that Azerbaijan treats China as its close partner, has strong willingness to develop relations with China, and stands ready to enhance all-dimensional and all-field cooperation between the two countries to the greatest extent. Azerbaijan welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest and build factories in Azerbaijan, to take part in infrastructure construction and development of industrial parks, energy and other fields, and to utilize Azerbaijan's location advantages to energetically develop transit transportation industry. Azerbaijan will offer policy support for this. Azerbaijan is also ready to enhance cooperation with China in aerospace, information technology and other high-tech areas, continuously boost bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges in fields including culture and education, and facilitate personnel exchanges between the two countries.
