Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping Attends the Reception Marking the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of China-Georgia Diplomatic Relations

On June 15, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping at invitation attended a reception marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-Georgia diplomatic relations held by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC). CPAFFC Vice President Li Jianping, Georgia's Ambassador to China Mamuka Gamkrelidze and other officials attended the reception.

Addressing the reception, Cheng said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 20 years ago, China-Georgia exchanges at all levels have been strengthened and both sides have maintained good communication and coordination in the United Nations and other international organizations and achieved remarkable results in cooperation on economy, trade, culture, education and tourism. China is willing to work with the Georgian side to push forward bilateral friendly cooperative ties and bring more benefits to both peoples.

Gamkrelidze said in his speech that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Georgia-China friendship has been increasingly consolidated with deepening political mutual trust and expanding cooperation in economic, cultural and other fields. Georgia regards China as an important partner and is willing to work with China to push bilateral relations to a new level.

During the reception, the ceremony on the launch of the commemorative photo album on the 20th anniversary of China-Georgia diplomatic ties and the collection of important documents on the bilateral relations was held.
