Wang Yi Meets with Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili of Georgia

On September 10, 2015, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Dalian with Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili of Georgia, who was in China for the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2015 of the World Economic Forum.

Wang Yi expressed that in recent years, China and Georgia have witnessed steady progress in their friendly cooperative relations and constantly deepened cooperation in such areas as economy, trade, investment, financing and infrastructure construction. China will take the opportunity of jointly constructing the Silk Road Economic Belt and follow the principle of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit to speed up the FTA negotiation between the two countries and constantly make new progress in bilateral all-round cooperation.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili expressed that China is an important direction in Georgia's diplomacy, and Georgia will fully support and actively participate in the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt thus make bilateral cooperation better serve the two countries' development.

Both sides also exchanged in-depth views on current international topics of common interest.
