On June 18, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng attended at invitation the reception marking the independence day of Georgia held by the Georgian Embassy in China.

In his address, Le Yucheng congratulated on the independence day of Georgia. He said that China-Georgia relations have maintained a stable momentum of development during the past 29 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries. In the face of the once-in-a-century COVID-19 pandemic, the two countries stuck together and helped each other tide over the difficulties. The friendship between the two peoples grew more solid and robust through the fight against the pandemic. In 2021, China will hold grand celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and embark on a new journey to fully build a modern socialist country. Meanwhile, Georgia is pushing ahead with its national reform. All of these will bring significant development opportunities for both countries and bilateral relations. China is willing to work with Georgia to enhance political mutual trust, bolster support for each other, and strengthen the Belt and Road cooperation, so as to translate the development opportunities of bilateral relations into more concrete cooperation results, and push China-Georgia relations to new heights.

Georgian Ambassador to China Archil Kalandia spoke highly of the development of Georgia-China relations and bilateral cooperation results in various fields in his speech. He extended his congratulations on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, applauded China's tremendous development achievements, and said Georgia is ready to make joint efforts with China to continue to strengthen the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
