Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Alexander Khvtisiashvili Hold Consultations between Chinese and Georgian Foreign Ministries

On July 7, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Alexander Khvtisiashvili held consultations between Chinese and Georgian foreign ministries in Beijing.

Ma Zhaoxu said that China and Georgia are good friends and good partners. In recent years, bilateral relations have maintained sound momentum of development, with solid progress in such areas as economy, trade, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges. China is ready to work with Georgia to carry forward the traditional friendship, step up mutual support, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and push forward China-Georgia relations in the new era.

Khvtisiashvili said that Georgia regards China as a strategic cooperative partner, and stands ready to work with China to actively advance the Belt and Road cooperation and push forward the development of Georgia-China relations on the basis of mutual respect.

The two sides also had an exchange of views on international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern.
