On the evening of February 22, 2021, President Xi Jinping had a phone conversation with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.

Xi Jinping pointed out, since the inception of our diplomatic ties 29 years ago, the China-Kyrgyzstan relationship has stood the test of international changes and maintained a momentum of sound and steady development. The two sides have firmly supported each other on issues vital to each other's core interests, achieved fruitful outcomes in Belt and Road cooperation and worked in close coordination and collaboration on international affairs. China sincerely hopes Kyrgyzstan will deliver stable development, supports it in pursuing a development path that suits its national conditions and supports its government in safeguarding its national independence, sovereignty, and security. China will work with Kyrgyzstan to tap into the development trajectory of the bilateral relations, and lift the comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level.

Xi Jinping emphasized, China is actively fostering a new development paradigm, and advancing opening-up at an even higher level, which will offer even more development opportunities for Kyrgyzstan and other countries. China and Kyrgyzstan should continue to promote the steady and stable development of the practical cooperation, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, deepen cooperation in economy, trade, connectivity, agriculture and other fields, and ensure smooth progress of major cooperative projects. China will encourage Chinese companies to invest in Kyrgyzstan, and welcome more high-quality agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan to China. The two sides should strengthen security cooperation, and maintain the security and stability of the two countries and this region at large. China is willing to support Kyrgyzstan in fighting against the COVID-19, and deepen cooperation in vaccine and other fields.

Japarov said, Kyrgyzstan appreciates China's valuable assistance for Kyrgyzstan's economic and social development, and sincere support for its fight against the virus. China has always been Kyrgyzstan's trustworthy neighbor, friend and partner. Kyrgyzstan firmly supports China's position on issues concerning its core interests, including those related to Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Taiwan and firmly adheres to the one-China principle. Kyrgyzstan welcomes Chinese companies to invest in the country, and will work with China to advance the cooperation of railways and other major projects, and advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. At the recent World Economic Forum Virtual Event of the Davos Agenda, President Xi Jinping proposed that we should uphold multilateralism, and build an open world economy, which is of special and practical significance under the current situation. Kyrgyzstan will work with China to advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. Japarov believes, under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, the Chinese people will score even greater success.
