On January 14, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng held new year friendly exchange activities with envoys from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to China.

Le Yucheng noted that 2020 was an extraordinary year. In the face of the sudden COVID-19 pandemic, the relations between China and Central Asian countries have not stalled, but moved forward steadily, and their cooperation has shown greater vitality. The year 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the 30th anniversary of the independence of Central Asian countries. Both sides will usher in the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The development of relations between China and Central Asian countries is facing new and important opportunities. China is willing to maintain close exchanges with all parties, deepen all-round mutually beneficial cooperation, and push the relations between China and Central Asian countries to achieve new and greater development.

The envoys of the five countries warmly congratulated the CPC on its 100th anniversary, spoke highly of the great historical achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC and the brilliant achievements in the development of relations between China and Central Asian countries, and emphasized that no matter how the international situation changes, Central Asian countries will never shake their confidence in and will never stop their pace of pursuing friendly cooperation with China.
