External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping Meets with Tajik Ambassador to China Saidzoda Zohir

On July 19, 2021, External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry Cheng Guoping met with Tajik Ambassador to China Saidzoda Zohir. Both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, counter-terrorism and security cooperation, inter-departmental and inter-regional security cooperation mechanism, etc.

Cheng Guoping said, under the guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Emomali Rahmon, China-Tajikistan relations have been upgraded strategically and made substantial progress over the past few years. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has just wrapped up his visit to Tajikistan, injecting fresh growth momentum into the development of bilateral relations. China is willing to communicate and coordinate with Tajikistan closely, further strengthen the China-Tajikistan inter-departmental and inter-regional security cooperation mechanism, deepen counter-terrorism and security cooperation, and protect the two countries' security interests.

Saidzoda said, Tajikistan spoke highly of the Tajikistan-China comprehensive strategic partnership and both countries' high-level cooperation in the security field, and stands ready to work with China to make good use of such cooperation platforms as the inter-departmental and inter-regional security cooperation mechanism, tackle neighboring threats to security, combat the "three forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism, and safeguard regional peace and stability.
