On June 30, 2023, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with a delegation of the Parliament of Vanuatu led by Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas.

Ma Zhaoxu welcomed the delegation led by Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas to visit China, and expressed appreciation to them for their contribution to promoting the development of China-Vanuatu comprehensive strategic partnership. Noting that this year marks the 41st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vanuatu, he said China is ready to work with Vanuatu to bring bilateral relations to a new level.

Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas said that Vanuatu attaches great importance to growing its relations with China, adheres to the one-China policy, and hopes to further strengthen cooperation with China in various fields, to work for greater development of Vanuatu-China relations.
