On May 24, 2023, Special Representative for Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Yang Xiaokun and Director of Global Issues of Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Ismail Chekkori co-chaired the consultation between China and Morocco on human rights affairs, and had an in-depth exchange of views on respective human rights concept and progress of the human rights cause, as well as the work on human rights at multilateral level, among others.
