From December 5 to 8, 2018, Ambassador for China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Li Chengwen visited Tunisia, during which he met with Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Sabri Bachtobji of Tunisia, and Director of the General Directorate of Political, Economic Affairs and Cooperation with the Arab World at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mahmoud Khemiri of Tunisia. They exchanged views on such topics as China-Tunisia relations, the implementation of the outcomes of the 8th CASCF Ministerial Meeting and the building of the CASCF. Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Tunisia Li Pingyi attended the above activities.

During the visit, Li Chengwen also communicated with experts and scholars from the institute for strategic studies and the institute for strategic analysis and foresight at the presidential palace of Tunisia.
