On 17 September 2013, Foreign Minister Wang Yi exchanged ratification instruments for China-Angola Extradition Treaty with the visiting Angolan Foreign Minister Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti and the two signed certificates for the exchange. The Treaty will take effect on 17 October 2013.

The Treaty, after its entry into force, will lay a solid legal basis for both countries to carry out extradition cooperation, help both parties jointly combat transnational crimes, and ensure smooth personnel, economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.
