Xi Jinping Meets with President Jose Eduardo dos Santos of Angola

On December 3 local time, President Xi Jinping met with President Jose Eduardo dos Santos of Angola in Johannesburg.

Xi Jinping pointed out that currently China-Angola relations are at the best level in history. The Chinese side stands ready to make persistent efforts with the Angolan side to convert the advantages of political mutual trust and economic complementarity of the two countries into more impetus for win-win cooperation and common development. Both sides should enhance political guidance, maintain the sound momentum of high-level exchanges, boost mutually beneficial cooperation in investment, industries, finance, infrastructure construction and other areas, and expand exchanges in education, culture, public health, media, youth, tourism, human resources and other fields. The Chinese side appreciates the Angolan side's positive role in international and regional affairs as a nonpermanent member of the UN Security Council and the rotating presidency of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region and stands ready to enhance coordination and cooperation with the Angolan side on major international issues, so as to protect common rights and interests of developing countries.

Jose Eduardo dos Santos expressed that his visit to China this June was a great success. He is very glad that both sides are making joint efforts to implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries. The Angolan side is willing to reinforce cooperation with the Chinese side in the fields of petroleum industry, water conservancy, food processing, investment and financing, and service industry. The Angolan side is also willing to keep communication and coordination with the Chinese side on maintaining peace and stability in Africa.
