On July 5, 2017, Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Lin Songtian met with the delegation of think tank and media of Botswana, who was visiting China at the invitation of China Public Diplomacy Association. Botswanian Ambassador to China Mothusi Palai was present.

Introducing the development course of China, especially the achievements have been made since China’s opening up and reform, Lin Songtian stressed that at present, China-Africa cooperation has enjoyed vigorous development with overachieved outcomes, and China-Botswana cooperation enjoys broad prospects. China is willing to join efforts with Botswana to respect each other’s core interests and major concerns and actively expand bilateral friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation in all fields, so as to facilitate the healthy development of bilateral relations.

Admiring China’s development achievements, the delegation stands ready to give full play to respective advantages, and actively carry forward the positive energy of Botswana-China and Africa-China cooperation, in a bid to make more contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
